GETTING THERE

There are several ways to get to Lirio Lodge. The most common are either minivan transfer from San Jose or other locations like Arenal, La Fortuna, or the South Caribbean (Cahuita and Puerto Viejo); or the car rental option.

The entry point to Lirio Lodge is the Goshen Dock, which is located about 25 minutes north of Batan Village in the natural region known as the Tortuguero canals. Lirio Lodge is located 74 km south of the town of Tortuguero, in a region named Pacuare.

The best route is to drive from San Jose first to Guapiles (1 ¼ hours), continue to Siquirres (1 hour), then about 15 minutes. If you come from San Jose you will encounter the entrance to the town of Batan 15 minutes after exiting left from the main road. Once in Batan, the route continues for approximately 25 minutes by a gravel road to the Goshen Pier. At the Goshen Pier, there is a free parking lot under supervision. There the customers can park their car and our boat with the guide will be waiting for you. Ask about our departures. The official departure is at 11 AM, however, with prior notification, it may be later or earlier with an additional charge. We also have

packages that include transportation from San Jose or other departure points.

Lirio Lodge is located in Barra de Pacuare, a charming and remote region where the Pacuare River flows into the Caribbean Sea. The lodge is in the heart of the most unspoiled part of the Tortuguero canals, between the town of Tortuguero and the city of Limón. Contrary to the town of Tortuguero, Lirio Lodge has the advantage of being in a remote place, without the excess of tourists or motor boat traffic. The only thing the visitor will have around him is unspoiled nature, authentic and local traditions, friendly and helpful people. We complement all this with a kind list of tours and activities included in the packages, such as two guided boat tours, guided walk in the Pacuare Reserve as well as other excursions and activities. As our motto says, Lirio Lodge is like visiting Tortuguero 30 years ago, in its most authentic, virgin and natural state.
