Three Days Tortuguero Package

DAY 1:

06:30 The clients are picked up in all major hotels in San Jose, between 6:30 and 7:15 depending on the area and the number of customers that may come from other hotels.

07:45 There be a stop at Fogon de Lola Restaurant for taking a typical breakfast.

11:30 Arrival at the lodge. Check in, free time to rest and lunch.

12:30 Lunch at our restaurant on the water at Laguna Madre de Di-os.

2:30 Departure to the town of Barra de Pacuare, located on the bank of land between the lagoon and the Caribbean Sea. In this visit, the charm of local lifestyle will be found in this typical Caribbean coastal town. The visit also includes a stop at the local school and the Chelonians Sea Turtles village project, located on the beach.

4:00 Subsequently, the boat will again cross the river mouth of the Rio Pacuare heading to the wetlands of Boca de Pacuare, an ecosystem of high importance for endangered species, home to numerous birds, amphibians, mammals and reptiles such as caimans, river turtles, and many more species. Around 5 pm we will return to the lodge.

6:30 Dinner, leisure, and lodging. Time to relax and talk about the day's experiences at the restaurant/bar Lodge, next to the lagoon of Laguna Madre de Di-os.

DAY 2:

7:00 Breakfast

8:00 Departure by boat to explore, with our guide, the secluded and wild Pacuare Reserve, an area of vast tropical forests, situated in a strip of land between the Laguna Madre de Di-os and the Caribbean Sea. During this tour of about 3:30 hours, you can discover what a tropical primary rain forest is about, with rivers and wetland ecosystems. This gem is home to numerous species of flora and fauna and in almost every outing we can spot the three species of monkeys, mostly snakes, oropendolas, also sometimes sloths, toucans, parrots, hummingbirds.

At approximately 11:30 11 we return to the Lodge.

12:30 Lunch

2:30 Departure by boat to explore some of the natural canals in the area. It is decided that same day which canal and area to explore, depending on which area is fuller of wildlife during that given time of the year and weather conditions. The Pacuare Canals are part of Tortuguero Canals, ranging from Moin in the south to Barra de Colorado in the North. They are home to caimans, crocodiles, river turtles, perezos, snakes, birds, mammals, monkeys and many species of wildlife, as well as an imposing vegetation, a sample of the Central American Amazon rainforest.

5:00 Return to the lodge and afternoon time at leisure.

6:30 Dinner, leisure, and lodging. Time to relax and talk about the day's experiences in the restaurant/bar Lodge, next to the Madre de Di-os Lagoon.

DAY 3:

7:00 Breakfast

9:00 Departure to the Goshen docks. Connection with the means of transport.

Important note: The arrival information is not included since they depend on how the customer arrives, some customers arrive own by car rental in which case they should be at the Goshen dock by 10: 30 AM. That is where our boat departs from heading to the lodge ( 15 minutes down the Madre de Dios River ), exploring the canals of the Rio Madre de Dios. The same applies in the case of Shuttle transfers (Interbus or other companies), where customers are picked up at the main road (restaurant Sol y Luna in Batan), and then they are transferred to the Goshen dock, where at 11:00 AM the boat departs to the lodge (15 minutes). In the case of our packages including full transportation from San Jose, the clients are picked up in all major hotels in San Jose, between 6:30 and 7:15 depending on the area and the number of customers that may come from other hotels. A stop at Fogon de Lola Restaurant is included in case of the last option, including breakfasts for the clients.
